Great question — and it makes sense to want to understand *why* this is happening, especially when treatment hasn't started yet.

With MCL (or any lymphoma), the cancer cells themselves release chemicals into the body. These chemicals can interfere with the body's normal temperature regulation, triggering sweating — even without any treatment involved. Night sweats in lymphoma fall under what doctors call "B symptoms" — a group of three key systemic symptoms:

- Fever (above 100.4°F / 38°C)
- Unexplained weight loss of more than 10% of body weight in under 6 months
- Night sweats (or daytime sweating)

These are called "systemic" symptoms because they affect the whole body, not just one area. It's really important to let your healthcare team know that the night sweats have started. B symptoms can influence how your lymphoma is staged and may affect treatment decisions going forward — so this is worth flagging sooner rather than later.
