Unfortunately I had a total of 19 rounds of chemo. Ended up with Stage 4 CKD and severe neuropathy in my feet. It feels like I'm walking barefoot on rocks. Good news is that I'm in remission. The previous response sums it up.
Hi Kim, that's great news to be almost through the toughest part! DLBCL Stage IV and six rounds of chemo for me too.
Expectations: bad news ... you're going to have to start shaving those legs again in about two months! Also, my long straight hair grew back curly, but it's been fun to experience something new though.
Regaining strength and dealing with anemia were my biggest problems. After 1 year and 4 months in remission, the neuropathy in my pointy-finger is improving and exercise is once again a big part of life. Sometimes, I forget that sickness ruled my life, but unfortunately the little worry bugs do remind me with each ache, pain and sniffle that recurrence could be around the corner. If thinking about those worries on a positive note, the joy of life is enhanced, when thinking it could be shortened. Warren Zevon's advice of "enjoy every sandwich" is a good attitude to adopt for me!
