PamM2,
Hi! The only things I wanted was bagel with peanut butter and meatloaf!?! I figured my body needed what was in them! My husband made me smoothies with fruit, ice cream and kale when I didn’t feel like eating. I’m glad you are at least eating something. Kelly

Is it okay to eat American deli cheese when experiencing nausea from R-CHOP treatment?

When you're dealing with nausea during R-CHOP treatment, the most important thing is getting calories and nutrition in whatever way you can tolerate. If American deli cheese appeals to you and you can eat it, that's actually a positive thing.

During treatment, focusing on high-calorie foods that you can actually keep down is more important than worrying about whether foods are "perfectly healthy." Cheese provides protein, calories, and fat - all of which your body needs during treatment.

Here are some tips for eating during R-CHOP:

- Eat small amounts of high-calorie foods throughout the day
- Choose foods that appeal to you, even if they're not your usual "healthy" choices
- Try eating five or six small meals instead of three large ones
- Use butter, syrups, and sauces to increase calories when possible

The key is avoiding foods that trigger your nausea. If cheese doesn't make you feel worse, it's a good option. You might also consider keeping a journal to track which foods sit well with you and which ones trigger nausea.

If your nausea is severe or persistent, talk to your healthcare team about antiemetic medications that can help manage it.

Hi Pam: I know just what you mean.
I recently bought an air fryer in an attempt to persuade my taste buds into letting taste something other than nothing...it worked.
I'm not saying you ought to do that. However, I really like the Kerrygold Irish white cheddar cheese; Balderson 1 year old cheddar is tasty as well.
Have you tried making a grilled cheese sandwich on some dense and delicious Italian or French bread?
Adding a little Dijon mustard on the cheese perks the flavour up a wee bit more. If you like green olives with pimento throw a handful of sliced olives on, too. The world is your oyster my friend.
Check out some of the Smoothie recipes on YouTube...yummy!!!
Good luck my friend,
Hugs from Rhonda4 and Gia
