It's completely understandable to worry about your DLBCL returning, even after being in remission for 4 years. Many people share this concern.

The good news is that your chances of relapse decrease significantly the longer you stay in remission. Research shows that after achieving complete response for two years, the relapse rates continue to drop:

- About 6.9% relapsed after 3 years
- 9.3% relapsed after 5 years
- 10.3% relapsed after 8 years

This means the longer you remain cancer-free, the lower your risk becomes. At 4 years in remission, you're in a much better position than in those critical first two years when relapses are most common.

While it's natural to have these worries, your extended remission is a positive sign. Continue attending your follow-up appointments and let your doctor know right away if you notice any concerning symptoms like swollen lymph nodes, unexplained fevers, night sweats, or fatigue.

Many MyLymphomaTeam members share similar concerns about relapse, so you're definitely not alone in feeling this way.
