June 2019 i was diagnosed with primary cns lymphoma.
This year in march i had an ovary removed. They found diffuse large b cell lymphoma. My oncologist wants to put me on the r-CHOP regimen with stem cell transplant to follow as maintainance therapy.
Hello Group - My name is Pam, 63 year old retired nurse. I just finished 6 months of Bendemustine/Rituxamab (BR) treatment for follicular lymphoma stage 4. The majority of providers are recommending a 2 year - every 2 month infusion of Rituxamab. I've also heard some LLS physicians state they no longer use this protocol due to weakening of the immune system - with COVID and all still active would increase our chances of getting it. Anyone have advise/opinion on this? I personally don't feel… read more
Any thoughts on whether those of us with lymphoma should get the shingles vaccine? My oncologist today told me I should get it. I've been pretty die-hard about not introducing toxins into my body....and I'm thinking that is another one. But he said getting shingles would really be hard on my body with the lymphoma.

Thanks I’m going to ask my oncologist when I go in next week.

Happy Thanksgiving ❤️
Ex. My son is immune suppressed bcs of medication he takes for a rare chronic disease and we are cautious but not overprotective of his environment. I assume it is the same for ppl with NHL watch and wait? Or are there additional precautions against infection, beyond the normal precautions, specifically related to cancer? Thanks
I find the watch and wait so hard. For me is like playing with a loaded gun, the problem is that you do not know really what the caliber is going to be. I just finished treatment for a FL Grade 2… read more
Praying you find a donor soon. 🙏🏼
I completed chemotherapy (Gazyva and Bendeka) for follicular lymphoma last October and have been in remission. Four weeks ago (August 8) I contracted Covid-19. I started taking Paxlovid on August 9, which stopped the Covid immediately, but then symptoms (mostly head cold-like with moderate fever) came back on August 15. Antigen test was weakly positive, but subsequent tests have given a strong positive response. I still have cold-like symptoms with no fever, but with fatigue. When I first… read more
I would think it would definitely be helpful to confer with your oncologist on this. Anything that comes up that involves lymph nodes or cancer, it’s best to involve them.
I recently had an abscess… read more
Opinions or no opinions from politicians. These vaccines, not like others, that have years of testing to make sure they're safe. Would raise a eyebrow? They had only been tested on rats, which most… read more
My oncologist says the usual procedure after completing the final round of chemo/immuno therapy (which I did yesterday, hurray! ) was to continue with immuno therapy infusions every 2 months for 2 years. He also said the immune system would get compromised by the therapy and that it was my decision, esp. with Covid and other (respiratory) diseases still around, if I really wanted to go through with it.
He didn't specify (and I forgot to ask) just how MUCH it will suffer and how careful I will… read more
