Where are the stats on how long you live without treatment ? How many people out of a Drs client base decide NOT to do Chemo?
where is info on how many people decide not to treat or give up on treatment. Anyone think treatment is worse the disease ?
Some NHL's are not curable. I want to know how those people deal with their life, Hospice and pain control.
Anyone besides me considering not treating.
I can't be the only one.
I am told that my nhl is incurable but treatable. I have finished 6 months of chemo BR and now I’m in maintenance for 2 years. So far I have been managing good. We will see what my ct scan in June… read more
I have read that this condition is rare but I have a biopsy for breast cancer coming up and I also have non hodgkin lymphoma. I am wondering if you can have both at the same time!
Angela
Yes. But mine was just a lymphoma node in my breast
I was just diagnosed a week ago and don't meet with my doctor to discuss next steps until after the new year. He mentioned possibly doing "watch and wait" method and I've read a lot that backs that up, which really surprises me. Why would you wait until things got worse to pursue any type of treatment?
For some types of blood cancer there's no evidence that early treatment, when you have no symptoms, improves outcomes. Instead, doctors recommend saving treatment for later, when it will have the best… read more
At this point, I’ve decided not to start treatment
I have lost two friends in the last year to other types of cancer
They both went through chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
They continued telling me that the chemotherapy had caused many uncomfortable side effects and weren’t sure whether it was causing more painful issues than it was worth.
They both have passed in the last three months.
They both expressed to me that their quality of life, and getting some extra months, wasn’t really… read more
June 2019 i was diagnosed with primary cns lymphoma.
This year in march i had an ovary removed. They found diffuse large b cell lymphoma. My oncologist wants to put me on the r-CHOP regimen with stem cell transplant to follow as maintainance therapy.
Two plus years of difficulty breathing and multiple Urgent Care/ER Md’s telling me all labs and heart look great! “Btw heres some muscle relaxers.” Monday this past week I hyperventilated in my MDs office. She sent for a stat CT of chest and there are multiple lymph nodes that are “very large”. On tues they did an abdominal CT they had to get special approval because of too much contrast under 24 hours. It came back clear and more labs/ekg, also clear. Worked me into a Pulmonologist Weds and he… read more
I would certainly say so, I always think the worst part of any diagnosis is the 'not knowing' once you have the information regardless of what it is you can put your mind to it and plan accordingly… read more
I am not actively taking treatments right now but I just found a decent size lump on the inside of my left elbow. I am finding myself very agitated and little to no patience. That is totally opposite of my normal disposition. I am sooooo tired all the time. I don’t know what is normal because of my extremely stressful job or if this is part of the disease. I have follicular lymphoma.
I do too Terrie. It’s frustrating I know. Some days I’m more tired than there. Some days I feel nauseas but that’s nerves. I worry. Now I have a UTI where the heck did they come from 🙄.
I am stage 4 and the future is both uncertain and frightening. I am 57 and underrstand that life chances are about 50/50 for a male of my age at stage 4 ?
I would like to know what are the signs and stages of lymphoma.
Thank you. That is very helpful!
